ubuntu-latestnow resolves to Ubuntu 26.04, whereactions/setup-pythoncannot install Python 3.8/3.9 x64. Pin the affected compiler, Java, OpenJ9, integration, JavaScript, Python, Go, and formatting jobs to Ubuntu 24.04 while retaining their Python/Node versions, matrix coverage, and test commands.Keep C++ and sanitizer jobs on the same Ubuntu 24.04 baseline: the image migration also introduced GCC 15 build failures and incompatible cached Bazel toolchain paths in main CI. Compiler warnings and sanitizer coverage remain enabled.
Validation: Python 3.8 compiler import, workflow YAML lint, Prettier, and structural matrix comparison passed. The official Python distribution manifest confirms Ubuntu 24.04 builds for every selected Python version. Remote CI is being verified on this PR.
