cmake-format is unmaintained and crashes on Python 3.15. This replaces it with gersemi and reformats all CMake files.

  • .gersemirc keeps the line length (99) and indent (2). It reads the custom command definitions from tools/ and tests/, so gersemi formats the keyword arguments of pybind11_add_module and similar commands correctly.
  • gersemi --safe confirms that the formatted code is equivalent to the original. I also ran the test_cmake_build integration tests locally.

When this merges, the Python 3.14 pin from #6221 can be removed. Add the squash commit to a blame-ignore file.

Suggested changelog entry:

cmake-format is unmaintained and crashes on Python 3.15.
